Traveling Kimono

Fast fashion culture has led use astray and to throw away garments of use of a season.

The materials of old hold fast and deserve more life so my wish is to keep them alive for the next person to adorn it.

Whenever I find a neglected kimono, it calls out to me, wishing for a new life.
Where did you come from? What is your story?

This is what I seek to discover and to pass on.
I want that living being inside that garment to find another happy life.

When I pick up my sleeping kimono, I feel warm and receive something like a message.

Everything has value – even items old and forgotten.
One person’s garbage may be another person’s treasure.

My shop is a mobile kimono clinic that strives to save those dilapidated kimono from rot and destruction.
I will travel across Japan with kimono in tow and seek out new ones.

My dream is to spread kimono culture and to see the smiles on the faces of the customers
who decide to dress themselves with history, color and life of this ancient tradition.
